born 1967, studied with prof. Asger Lund Christiansen in Copenhagen until the age of 18. At that time, he went to Germany to study with the famous cellist prof. David Geringas at the Musikhochschule Lübeck. He graduated from the soloist class with distinction and the highest grade in all subjects. Immediately after his graduation, he became the assistant of David Geringas. Troels Svane has participated in masterclasses with the Amadeus Quartet, Anner Bylsma, Frans Helmerson, Ralph Kirshbaum, György Ligeti, Yo-Yo Ma, Siegfried Palm, Boris Pergamenschikow, Mstislav Rostropovich, Daniil Shafran and Paul Tortelier. he was a winner in the Nordic Solistbiennale. In 1997, he was a prizewinner in the International Rose Cello Competition in Washington. |
